Richard Pavao - President

Richard Pavao graduated from Golden Gate University in 1986 with a BA in Business Economics. After graduation he joined Homestead Savings & Loan to learn the lending industry from the ground up. Starting as a loan processor doing both VA and FHA loans. Richard soon advanced to drawing loan documents and then funding loans. After underwriting for a brief time he was one of four people selected to start a conventional lending department.

With the successful launching of the conventional lending department the company decided Richard should become a mortgage banker in order to establish their wholesale lending program and to create relationships with mortgage brokers and other lending institutions.

Having gained expertise in retail, wholesale and mortgage banking sides of the lending industry, Richard decided to open California Real Estate Finance. It is exactly this type of expertise that his clients, co-worker and staff have come to respect and count on.

For a decade, Richard also served on the board of directors of Operation Dignity. A non-profit organization dedicated to housing homeless veterans. In those ten years the organization grew to be the largest provider of housing to homeless veterans in Northern California.

To this day, Operation Dignity is a huge success.
